Bones Season 4 Finale

Hmmmmmmmm.......

I just watched the finale of Bones season 4 and I have to say I was less than impressed. The whole dream sequence was confusing and the plot was very limited. I liked how they worked all the characters of the show in to the storyline but it was a pretty lame episode. Zach was brought back but did nothing but stand around in the background!

The episode started with Booth and Brennan shagging and then revealed that the pair were husband and wife and the Jeffersonian was in fact a nightclub. I'm hoping that the producers were testing the waters with the possibility of getting Booth and Brennan together, because on the evidence of this episode alone it just wouldn't work! Why can't they just be friends!

Here's hoping Booth makes a quick recovery!

Bones - Season 4 Episode 1

Why is it that when the Brits appear in a American show, their accents sound so much more obvious? Also, I can't recall Indira Verma's accent properly but why did she and all the other Brits in this episode sound so posh? All the Brits sounded like they were Americans doing a bad english accent! The other annoying part of this epsiode was the use of London landmarks such as Trafalgar Square and the Houses of Parliament as back drops. I think the viewer was quite aware that Booth and Brennan were in London, there was no need to force it down our throats!

This was also the first Zach-less epsiode, his role having been replaced by Clark Edison who has a very weird nose! By the end of the episode he left so it looks like rotating interns will be the norm this season. The case itself wasn't very interesting and Booth and Brennan looked a bit out of place in London. It's a shame because I thought Season 3 was brilliant and everything up til the revelation of Gormogon's apprentice was superb. But I'm willing to give this show another bone (See what I did there?!!!)!

Spoilers!

Being one of those people who doesn't get around to watching shows until long fater they have aired, spoilers have become a major problem. After I watch a really good episode of a TV show, I like to go on line and find a decent review of the show and see if others had the same opinion as I. It's also a good way of picking up things you may have missed the first time round.

Unfortunately, I seem to inadvertently find things out that I really shouldn't. So here's a few things I have spoiled for myself by web browsing and unwittingly clicking on links that revealed something I really didn't want to know! The spoilers in RED are the ones I have yet to see!

The Shield
Lem's death (Wikipedia)
The end of Monica Rawlings (TV Squad)
Shane kills himself and his family (TV Squad)

House loses his cane (TV Squad)

Bones

Hell's Kitchen

The Apprentice US
Joan Rivers in the final (possibly the winner) (TV without Pity)

I'm sure there is plenty more, so I will update this post when I can.

Quick Update

OK I've been meaning to update this blog but haven't got round to it, so I'm going try and sum up my recent viewing in this post.

I just completed season 2 and 3 of the US Office, absolute quality. Mike Scott beats David Brent hands down. OK I have to admit Scott's character lacks the realism of Brent but he makes up for it with his zany ways. Who would have thought at the start of Season 3 Micheal would actually hook up with Jan? I feel a bit sorry for Karen, she is way hotter than Pam (although Pam has a better personality) and she gets dumped by Jim having followed him all the way to Scranton. The Dwight vs Andy storyline has been hilarious, but it was pretty obvious Dwight would end up reclaiming his spot as Micheal's right hand man.

Just started watching season two of Bones and I have to be honest, I'm not enjoying it as much as the first season. The cases seem as interesting and gruesome as ever but something just isn't clicking. The addition of Camille isn't necessarily a bad thing, but how many strong willed women does a show need?

I still haven't watched the final four epsiodes of season one of Reaper. But if rumours are to be believed, it won't be coming back for a 3rd series so I don't need to hurry on this one!

I've been trying to get in to the UK version of Life on Mars but I'm struggling. The concept is great, a modern day policeman stuck in the 70's but I'm still not feeling it. Maybe it's because I have no recollection of the 70's?

I saw one episode of Horne and Corden and I have to be honest, it was pretty crap. Looks like the pairs' agent is trying to cash in on them as much as he can before they crash and burn.

Bones - Two bodies in the lab

The best episode of Bones I've seen so far from season 1. Two attempts on Brennan's life, one of which puts Booth in hospital and Hodgens gets in on the action! The only thing that keeps bugging me right now is the fact that Zach is fast becoming my favourite character but I now know he's going to be written out of the show! I've not felt this disappointment since finding out Sgt Doakes was getting killed in Season 2 of Dexter.

Bones

I'm really glad I gave this another go because I'm really getting in to this show. The chemistry between Booth and Brennan makes the show, the cases keep the show fresh despite being pretty grusome and watching the msytery unravel is always interesting.

One of the best things about a show in my opinion are the supporting cast. If the cast is weak, the show suffers, where as the Bones staff are all solid. My personal favourite is Dr Zach Addy, he's supremely intelligent yet lacks the social ettiquette to interact with normal people. Unfortunately I was a little careless and found out by mistake that Zach becomes a bad guy in season 3 and is written out of the show! Damn!

The other great thing about Bones is it's theme music. The best theme music for a TV show since Ghostbusters!

What I'm watching...

Being here in the UK we often get US shows on at odd times on little watched sattelite channels, so sometimes a very good series could fly under the radar and we (or in this case I) are none the wiser. In fact two of my all time favourite shows The Wire and Jericho both aired here in the UK but came and went without a whimper, I only caught them later on the download.

I did some research on the net and went with a few shows that have had some good reviews. I've also tried to select shows that are still running (don't you hate it when you pick a series, immerse yourself in it and then find out it's finished?).

So here's what I'm currently watching....

30 Rock Season 1 - This one took a few episodes to get in to but Adam Baldwin's character Jack Donaghy is superb and his chemistry with Tina Fey works brilliantly. I'm up to epsiode 14 and loving it. Season 2 is already on order.

Reaper Season 1 - I started off loving this show but the monster of the week formula is a bit off putting. However Ray Wise is awesome as the Devil and it's a bonus that missy Pilgrym is hot! I watched the first 11 epsiodes and enjoyed them, but I am currently concentrating on 30 Rock so I will come back to the rest of the season at a later date.

How I Met Your Mother - If you thought Sock from Reaper was outrageous, he has nothing on Barney Stenson from HIMYM. The main crux of the show is the on/off relationship between Ted and Robyn with a great supporting cast of friends Lilly, Marshall and Barney keeping things fresh.

Bones Season 1 - This show is a tough one, whilst I like the two main characters, I'm still not in to the whole concept as yet. I've watched the first two shows and the jury is still out on this for me.
